The Acer XFA240 is definitely one of the best Acer gaming monitors. It is fast and responsive. Like many other fast gaming monitors, it has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, which is on the lower side of the pixel density (91 pixels per inch) but holds the advantage of higher frame rates. You can keep the action going smoothly in the most intense action game without investing in an expensive graphics card.
Adaptive renewal comes both ways. The XFA240 is natively a FreeSync monitor, but is advertised and certified as G-Sync Compatible by our tests. The equalization range is 48-144 Hz which is slightly higher than other ‘low-end’ monitors. However, since we’re only talking about two megapixels, it wouldn’t be a problem for anyone with a mid-priced graphics card. If you’re rocking an Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti FE or better, fixing the frame counter at 144 fps is a piece of cake.
Some may think the XFA’s low pixel density of the 0240s – 92 pixels per inch (ppi) – is the problem, but Acer gaming monitors haven’t cut any corners when it comes to quality. This Acer gaming monitor does not require calibration for the sRGB region. You can’t get HDR or expanded color, but you won’t be paying much for this monitor either.
The XFA240 offers a simple style it can take for a corporate monitor. The only ‘gaming’ monitor feature is the red ring around base. The bezels are a reasonable 14mm wide, and they sit proudly on the anti-glare display. You won’t have to worry about uneven reflections in the image.
